Tire Load Ratings

So I tried to order Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R for my 400 but got the warning and follow up call from Tire Rack that the rears are not the required XL load rating.

a. Is this significant? Stock PSS and Cup 2 tires are 1709 lbs max load and these are 1521 lbs max load. Will this hurt turn in or handling?
b. Will I have an issue with installers since this is below spec.

Apparently the R888Rs have the same issue.

Is anyone with a 400 running either of above on track?

Aren't those load indexes at the max or industry-specified pressures? So even the stock 1709 would be at 41 psi (or whatever the suggested pressure is), which I don't think anyone runs. But it does give a buffer for when running lower pressures. And the index is per-tire, and if weight is evenly distributed across all 4, it should carry a total of 6836lbs, well over the Evora's weight with cargo.

I'm running NT01 right now, and the max load for fronts (235/35-19) is 1201 and for rears (285/35/20) is 1764. I think worst case you'll be looking at premature treadwear, not a sidewall blowout or anything like that.

The only thing I had been warned over the years is insurance companies can decline a claim if incorrect load rating fitted. No idea if this ever happens, but I’ve heard it a few times.

Tire warranties are just toilet paper

Running a 285/35 is #1 heavier I bet, and #2 makes your ratios even taller than they already are......my favorite setup is the 235/285s on my 18/19's.....
